Fire damage. Flood damage. Both, often.

Most restoration jobs involve both fire and water — because water is how fires are fought. HUBB handles the full picture, in one project.

Fire Damage Restoration

From kitchen flash-fires to whole-building blazes, fire damage is more than the visible burn. Smoke, soot and odour penetrate every porous surface — and untreated, they degrade structure and air quality for years.

Our fire restoration includes:

  • Emergency make-safe & board-up
  • Soot & smoke residue removal
  • Specialist odour neutralisation (ozone & hydroxyl)
  • Structural drying after fire-fighting water
  • Replastering, redecoration & carpentry
  • Contents cleaning & restoration where possible
  • Full reinstatement to pre-loss condition

Flood & Water Damage Restoration

Whether it's a burst pipe, a backed-up drain or a weather event, water finds every crack. Without rapid, structured drying, you don't just lose carpets — you lose plaster, joists and floors to secondary damage like mould and rot.

Our flood restoration includes:

  • Emergency water extraction
  • Industrial dehumidification & structural drying
  • Moisture mapping & drying logs
  • Mould prevention treatment
  • Strip-out & safe disposal of unsalvageable materials
  • Replacement of plaster, flooring & finishes
  • Full reinstatement to pre-loss condition

FAQs

Fire & flood restoration — common questions.

Should I call you or my insurer first?

For an emergency, call us first — get the property safe and the damage stopped. We'll attend, make safe and then liaise directly with your insurer. If you'd prefer, your insurer can instruct us through their claims line; we work with all the major UK insurers.

How quickly can you get on-site after a fire or flood?

Our 4-hour emergency response guarantee applies across Essex and the wider Southeast. Most properties are reached within 60–90 minutes for a make-safe visit.

How long does a typical restoration take?

It depends on the scale. A small kitchen flood can be fully reinstated in 2–3 weeks; a major fire can take several months. We'll give you a clear programme of works once the scope is agreed.

Do you handle the insurance claim?

Yes. We produce the scope of works, photo evidence and cost schedule that insurers and loss adjusters need. We'll guide you through the process and liaise with your insurer or loss adjuster on your behalf.

Can you save my belongings after a fire?

In many cases, yes. We carry out content cleaning and restoration on items that are salvageable and produce an inventory of items that cannot be saved — both of which form part of your insurance claim.

What about smoke smell — does it really go away?

Yes, when treated properly. Surface cleaning alone never eliminates smoke odour — soot particles penetrate porous materials. We use ozone and hydroxyl treatment along with HEPA scrubbing to neutralise odours at the molecular level.
