HUBB Group's damp and mould specialists don't just paint over the problem. We diagnose the underlying cause — and only then do we treat. For homeowners, landlords and housing associations across Essex and the Southeast.
From the initial survey to the final coat of anti-mould paint, every step is delivered by the same accountable HUBB Group team.
Independent on-site survey using moisture meters, thermal imaging and hygrometry. Written report with diagnosis and clear recommendations.
Specialist biocide treatment, surface decontamination and anti-mould redecoration — with a written guarantee on treated areas.
Damp-proof course (DPC) injection, salt-resistant rendering and re-plastering — restoring the wall and the moisture barrier.
The hidden cause of most "damp" complaints. We diagnose, then prescribe ventilation upgrades, PIV units and humidity controls that actually solve it.
Water ingress from outside — failed pointing, render cracks, defective flashings. We fix the building fabric first, then treat the internal damage.
End-to-end packages for landlords and housing associations: survey, treatment and documentation built for Awaab's Law and HHSRS compliance.
A HUBB damp survey is a 60–90 minute inspection delivered by a single qualified engineer. Here's how it goes.
Engineer documents visible damp, mould, salting and staining — internal and external. Photos taken at every reference point.
Thermal imaging, protimeter readings, hygrometer measurements and dew-point calculations to identify the root cause — not just the symptom.
Detailed report within 48 hours: diagnosis, evidence photos, recommended works and a fixed-price quotation. Suitable for insurers and Awaab's Law compliance.
The tools that turn opinion into evidence — every engineer carries them as standard.
Detects cold-bridging, hidden leaks and wet zones without disturbing finishes.
Pin and pinless moisture readings in masonry, plaster and timber for a quantitative diagnosis.
Internal humidity and temperature readings to identify condensation risk and dew points.
For longer-term condensation diagnosis we leave data loggers in place to record humidity over days or weeks.
Inspection inside cavity walls and behind fitted units without removing finishes.
Chemical analysis to differentiate between rising damp, penetrating damp and condensation.
Awaab's Law makes it legally critical for landlords and registered providers to investigate and remedy damp and mould reports within strict statutory timeframes. Failing to do so risks litigation, regulatory action and — most importantly — tenant harm.
HUBB Group delivers the survey, the treatment and — crucially — the documentation that proves you acted properly and within deadline.
Both look similar on a wall but the causes — and the fixes — are completely different. True damp involves water ingress into the building fabric (rising or penetrating). Condensation is moisture from inside the property settling on cold surfaces. Treating condensation as if it were damp (and vice versa) is the most common mistake we see — and the reason mould comes back.
Not if it's treated properly. Mould returns when the cause is left unfixed — which is why our process always starts with diagnosing the underlying cause. Every treated area is covered by a written workmanship guarantee.
A typical residential survey takes 60–90 minutes. You'll receive a full written report within 48 hours.
Awaab's Law requires landlords (initially social-housing providers) to investigate and remedy damp and mould hazards within strict statutory timeframes. Our reporting and works are structured to satisfy these requirements with a clear, auditable trail.
Yes — and we'll typically find and fix the leak first using our in-house leak detection team, then dry, treat and reinstate. One HUBB team, end-to-end.
Cost depends entirely on the cause and the scale of work needed. We charge a fixed survey fee and provide a written, fixed-price quotation for any treatment — there are no nasty surprises.
